The organization provides a number of cultural services and hosts various annual events, including a Lunar Near Year Celebration that both honors ancient Chinese traditions and introduces Philadelphia area residents to various aspects of Chinese culture.

Celebrating the Year of the Rooster in January, the event featured an elaborate spread of traditional Chinese food, as well as a live performance of authentic Chinese music, dancing, and martial arts at the Ibrahim Theater. As was the case in previous years, the Lunar New Year Celebration sold out of tickets prior to the event. Individuals interested in attending the 2018 celebration or learning about other IHP special events can visit the organization online at www.ihousephilly.org.

Her past professional experience includes serving in leadership positions for several Philadelphia-based nonprofits. Through its Safe Bars program, WOAR works with Philadelphia-area bars, clubs, and restaurants to prevent sexual violence and promote a culture of respect. After completing the Safe Bars program, a business is recognized as a certified Safe Bar in Philadelphia. In addition to promoting a safe environment free of harassment and sexual aggression, Safe Bars attract more business by offering a positive experience for all customers.
